BREAKING: Pentagon Puts Army Battalion on Alert for Possible Minnesota Deployment
Jan 18 | Pentagon Puts Army Battalion on Alert for Possible Minnesota Deployment
by Sharad Swaney, Director of Centered America
Hey everyone,
I don’t typically work on Sundays but, I feel like this week is just heavy and there’s so much information that I don’t want anyone to miss.
If you support Centered America, I’d be grateful if you considered becoming a free or paid subscriber.
So here’s a little update:
The Pentagon has placed approximately 1,500 active-duty U.S. Army soldiers from two infantry battalions of the 11th Airborne Division on prepare-to-deploy orders for a potential mission to Minnesota, U.S. defense officials said. Reuters
The troops are currently on standby in Alaska and have not been ordered into the state. Defense leaders characterized the action as precautionary planning, available to President Donald Trump if conditions escalate.
President Trump has publicly threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act, a rarely used 1807 law that could allow active-duty troops to be deployed domestically if state authorities are perceived as unable to maintain order. The Pentagon’s alert order does not confirm such invocation or an imminent deployment.
Minnesota officials have reacted strongly. Governor Tim Walz mobilized the Minnesota National Guard to support local response efforts, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the prospect of active-duty military deployment “unconstitutional” and likely to escalate tensions.
The 11th Airborne Division is trained for cold-weather operations and rapid response, and its units remain ready pending any order from the White House or Department of Defense.
No official timeline or directive for movement of the soldiers into Minnesota has been announced.
UPDATE:
A lot of you have been asking for stickers, magnets, pins, and protest materials. I was finally able to put those on our store and make sure all the products are ethically sourced and affordable.
This is not just to sell out or to profit. We know a lot of you have been requesting these items, and we wanted to make it happen. More than that, we wanted to make sure all of us can show unity and be a part of something bigger. We want this logo to be a sign of resistance, of unity, and of coming together to fight this administration and rising authoritarianism.
We can show our unity by coming together and wearing our values.
Part of the reason the Trump administration won was due to constant branding and marketing. We have to fight fire with fire. MAGA wore their merch, waved the flags, and pushed a narrative.
To fight back, we have to wear our values and push back against the red hats.
We added so many new items, including: mugs, keychains, hats, v neck t shirts, face masks, flags, water bottles, phone cases, and bracelets.
We want Centered America to be a community and a resistance network, that if you see someone wearing the logo, you know they’re a friend, you know you can trust them.
What you wear, what you put on the back of your car, and what flag you wave all mean something when it comes to resistance.

Thank you for fighting.

We don’t become great by terrorizing our own states.
If the MN National Guard is already activated, then putting 1,500 active-duty troops “on alert” isn’t about logistics. Like everything Trump does, it’s all about optics.
It’s escalation theater: “Look how serious this is, we might need the Army.”
It’s intimidation signaling and narrative prep for something bigger (Insurrection Act talk, federal takeover framing, etc.).
We all live in the real world. He lives in a gold-plated fantasy where force and spectacle solve everything. This is a show of dominance, not a real or necessary response.
