Deportations to Begin September 2 Despite Worsening Crisis in Haiti
Today, the Trump administration officially announced it will end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 500,000 Haitian immigrants, stripping legal protections and work permits from families who have lived in the U.S. since the devastating 2010 earthquake.

TPS will formally expire on August 3, 2025, and deportations will begin just one month later, on September 2.
The Department of Homeland Security claims that conditions in Haiti have “improved sufficiently,” despite the U.S. embassy in Port-au-Prince being effectively evacuated, and the State Department continuing to warn Americans not to travel there due to rampant gang violence, kidnappings, and government collapse.
This decision marks one of the most sweeping TPS terminations in U.S. history. Many of those affected are parents of U.S. citizen children, homeowners, and frontline workers.
The move shortens the protections granted under the Biden administration, which extended TPS through early 2026. Advocates are already preparing legal challenges, calling the move “inhumane” and “politically motivated.”

This is disgusting and sad. I live about 40 minutes east of Springfield, Ohio, where a large number of Haitians have lived and effectively improved the town. 🤬
This is just sickening. More chaos and no reason for it. I don’t understand the end game. These people are hard working people and just want a good life. Who’s going to replace them in the workforce? I’m do sick of these good “Christians.” They need to go read their Bibles.
