BREAKING: Driver Intentionally Plows into “No Kings” Protest in Virginia
Driver intentionally plows into Virginia protest...
Culpeper, VA — A man drove an SUV into a crowd of peaceful protesters during today’s No Kings demonstration, striking at least one person before being arrested.
Authorities identified the driver as 21-year-old Joseph R. Checklick Jr., now facing charges for reckless driving and being held without bond.
The protest, part of the “No Kings” nationwide movement rejecting authoritarianism and celebrating democratic values, had drawn around 600 people locally. Witnesses say the driver intentionally accelerated into the dispersing group on James Madison Highway.
While no life-threatening injuries have been reported, this marks one of several violent incidents across the country today, as millions joined in No Kings protests from coast to coast.
This is a developing story. Stay safe. Stay loud.
