Buried inside the bill is Section 229, which mandates that undocumented immigrants in removal proceedings be placed under electronic GPS monitoring—such as ankle bracelets or smartphone tracking—until a final decision or deportation.
The bill also directs ICE’s Chief Financial Officer to deliver a full report on the program’s implementation within 45 days of the bill becoming law.
This provision is not yet law. The bill has passed the House but has not yet been voted on by the Senate and has not been signed by the President.
We will update you on this bill as it progresses. Consider becoming a paid subscriber to help support our work!
Remember that in Germany Jewish citizens wear forced to wear stars of David sewn into their clothing at all times.
If they are undocumented then how can they be tracked. Only documented immigrant be GPS’d but that would be illegal. It also doesn’t address people who just overstay their visas
